How long would it take for these bonds to mature? Would anything in particular effect how much you gain?

Basically, what your saying is that say im going away for a week, i have 15m in the bank and its just going to sit there. I invest in a bonds account with 8m of that with a return of say 30%. But i cant access that till that week is up. Also i think if the money is able to be left for set periods of times, increasing of interest rates for the longer its left.
