Gang Leveling

I know gang leveling isn't that important, this could possibly solve that.

Level 10000 - Ability to declare 250-point and 750-point wars
Level 15000 - Gang facility added equivalent to Facility Gamma
Level 20000 - Gang Armory unlocked
Level 30000 - Gang facility added equivalent to Facility Theta
Level 50000 - Gang can declare 2 wars per day
Level 100000 - Gang can have 3 Districts

I mean... You can add some different ones... but... this could be a good incentive.

Good proposal,it adds extra value to gangs and makes them more important.

Another thought is for every 100 levels the gang earns 5million cds which can then be used to further the gang or its members.

5 Million seems like a lot...

Maybe 100 ECs/5m per 500 levels... or something along that line

5 mill gives you about 38 ecs at a price of 130k each. You think about how much energy goes into 100 levels for the gang. Its really quite a small return. As people level up then the return on exp will be better, but it will also still cost more to level the gang as it rises throught the levels...so it kind of balances out. Ecs will cost more as more people stat to earn cds through the servers so 5mill will end up buying you less too. So you might need a sliding scale on return as the levels increase. Ie after level 500 you might get 10mill per 100 levels up to 1000...etc

I guess it just encourages everyone in the gang to hack, which is what the game is about.

Brilliant idea! Supprised it hasn't been suggested before.
Although the numbers/rewards need some thinking through, I think the general idea should be Nominated for top suggestion!

If you want to give some bonus per level gained => you should also change the amount of EXP needed per each level, like the players have !

Agreed. Or just making the rewards non-linear (sp?) might be easier to code ;)

Hmm... Black, Maybe if there was a new page that counted the amount of exp gained from a certain player... like how much money in coverage used per player...

So, when gang reaches the next 100 levels, the 5m is split in proportion to the exp gained by that member.

EX:

Code: Select all
ID         Player                     Exp Taxed
10078      Junny                      30000
10145      [1] Black Ice              120000

So, when next 100 levels is reached, I receive 1m and you would get 4m - Making hacks w/ exp tax can still be beneficial or have a type of payout... I hope I make sense

That would weigh heavily in favour of older, more established players, and mean newbs contributions were not considered at all (not necessarily a bad thing).

I like this.

Maybe not the level 10000 thing, seeing as no gang has gotten over level 200 yet.

Perhaps:

Level 2500 - Ability to declare 250-point and 750-point wars
Level 5000 - Gang facility added equivalent to Facility Gamma
Level 7500 - Gang Armory unlocked
Level 10000 - Gang facility added equivalent to Facility Theta
Level 15000 - Gang can declare 2 wars per day
Level 20000 - Gang can hold 3 Districts

And maybe have the gang's level give a bonus aside from battling other gangs. The average member isn't as concerned with leveling up his gang as he is himself. For example: have each level the gang has add one or two points to each of the battle stats; so if the gang's level was say 100, then each member would have a +100 to 200 added to their 4 scores as long as they were a member. As it is, I don't know if gang levels really serve any purpose. They didn't have a noticeable affect before reset, and I'm not sure whether or not you've altered that since.

So .... before I actually make any real suggestions to improve what the gang levels do, can the code-jockey tell me just what the hell they do as it is?

Gang leveling incentives are needed. Why did this suggestion die?

The least I know levels do right now is add hp to the gang. They might add stats, as well. I like the level incentive ideas for unlocking special facilities, but I think they're a bit high. Divide by 5 and they should be fine. I mean we only have a level 900 gang after all these months, and that's with the top leveled player paying taxes to them. I mean I can't really speak from previous knowledge/experience of how fast a gang can level, but those numbers seem a bit high. You may know better. Anyway. I love the idea of boosting members' stats by a point or two for every level the gang has, as long as they're a member. True, immediate incentive, though it might end up a ridiculous bonus for new players, even at 1 point per level. Since you expect them to eventually hit 25,000 levels, that's about 100,000 points to a new player, which is too much. So, there'd either have to be a cap on how much it can boost, cap for each member depending on their level, a cap for each member based off a percentage of their gamescore, or a cap overall that can be raised later on as an upgrade purchased after hitting a high level. Or anything else someone can think of to limit the power of it.
Another level idea, getting a bonus guardian slot. (higher level than those, since it would give a huge edge in district battles)

First thing I would suggest is a complete new leveling system, instead of 1500 exp each level I would like to see the same system as the players have (exp needed raise each level)

For this suggestion here's my 2 cents;
I see this as quite a bit to code with all the "rewards", IF it was a bit more simple like "x amount stat boost each x level gained" it would be easier to code and probably get added to the game fast. Don't get me wrong I like the idea of gang facility etc rewards, tho I think it would be better to start it off with something easy then add on something like gang facility rewards etc later on.
I want updates on the game now, and I would rather have several "easy/small" ones than one huge update with something that might not be as cool as we thought.

IF this is to be added with all the "rewards" I think the levels needed should be HIGH, this way it needs to be worked for.

I agree with Dan in that small well thought out updates are needed, quality over quantity. All the suggestions here are good ones and would get my vote, when the numbers were fully thought out.
