Smuggs is gone, and I'm bored. I'm not trying to take his spot, I'm just trying to help out.
Updates: The big update was the addition of district incentives. Now gangs get different upgrades, if you will, for the different districts they hold. Each gang may hold a maximum of 2 districts which give different stat boosts. For example, the Universal districts gives a massive 50 IQ bonus. The update was expected to cause some life in the district battles which have been silent for years. So far, not much has changed. I'm not sure if that's due to an issue with already having two and not being able to challenge for the one you want or what, but I know I personally will be more into the districts as my stats get higher.
Another update is the change in format for how CW's decisions will be made. Gatekeeper was voted in as the new staff member, while I was voted in as chat monitor, and there is currently another vote going on for two additional chat monitors as the Toast stepped down. Speaking from experience, in the Lyn era of CW, this would never have happened. The game management was strictly an admin-player thing, with everyone else just having to deal with the decision that was made. Now the players have a voice, and Orsm doesn't have to deal with any whining in regards to game management. Also in tying in with this, players now get to vote in suggestions to be put into CW. This is exciting, because there's a lot of good suggestions out there and now we can finally get them in! All that needs to happen is:
1. You make the suggestion
2. Aoen says yay or nay
3. All the yay's are put into a poll
4. Depending on the amount of yay's will depend if a multiple vote is needed
5. Winning suggestion will be added either at the end of April or into May (Aoen will confirm)
Gangs: The Casino has succeeded in pulling {DD} out into the open, thus ending the "huggle wars" that had been arranged with BAD. I haven't heard too much about this one, just kinda something I noticed. Maybe someone can post in here how this went down. {DD} holds the top gang monument slots for $, Charges, and Websites while ONE holds the top spot for gang levels. Nothing too exciting has been happening on the gang scene, but I expect more to come as more people finish up with their IQ.
Top 100 updates: Safetyrazor was surpassed for the #1 spot by Ozy. It appeared Ozy had been bidding his time saving up charges, and made a leap to the top spot where he has remained ever since. Along with Ozy, the top 10 recently gained some new faces including Black Ice, Maggie Mee, and Spyder. The top 20 consists of 6 members of ONE, 5 members of Dark Destiny, 5 members of Seven Sins, 1 member of OSX, 1 member of The Casino, 1 member of Access Denied, and 1 member of Dead on Arrival.
Community: The main thing that I've noticed about the community this past month is the constant complaints of polls created mostly by Junny. The way I see it, if you don't like the polls, ignore them. Nobody is forcing you to vote in them, but if you want updates and staff members to be to your liking, I'd suggest shutting up and taking 5 seconds to cast your vote. Along with that, the recent talk has been about who should get the 2 CM spots. Most would agree we need someone from a different timezone, and I'd agree with that, but we can't vote for certain people just because of the timezone. We need to see what type of person they are, and hopefully make a good choice so we don't have to hear any moaning in chat or forums about game management.
That's all I've got, hopefully Smuggs and his family will be doing better and he'll be able to take over again next month.
