Another gang war idea

I know I have one gang war idea, but I like this one as well.


What if there was a way to have wars coded in where ALL ways lasted for 1 week(no 100, 500,1000 kill limit) with it being done where the gang with the most kills per gang member would win the war for the week. The prize for this war could be something like 1million, 10 ecs, 5iq and 50 to each stat.

The kicker to these wars is that it would not be chosen by the gang owners but by a calender set by the admins. So each gang would be in a war at all times(unless there is an odd number of gang at which point 1 gang would have a one week war reprieve) and the war would be different every week giving a chance for new rivalries. Only gangs with 5 or more member would be eligible.

IE

Week 1
DD vs BAD
7S vs OSX
ONE vs TMZ
WU vs Casino

Week 2
DD vs 7s
BAD vs OSX
ONE vs Casino
TMZ vs WU

With amount of gangs we have right now eligible this would continue like this for 7 weeks before returning to week 1 of the cycle.

Not really a tourney as it would never end. Just more of a way to have an interaction between every gang in cyber wars at one time or another.

hmmmm I Like it less now, though, I like the idea of a Tournament when first place gets a prize though...

Also GK every time a gang gets created or a gang number drops or grows more or less than 5, the setting it have to change every time, good short term, not a good long term idea in my head

oooohhh i saw TMz in that list.

Ok seriously though Gate, i dont like this idea, we cant have set wars. However if you had to make a tourny out of it, i think you are onto something, lets find out who the best of the best is

I like this idea. But I don't like the fact that it's on an ongoing basis.

I saw Fuzz mention a monthly tournament thing in chat. I'd rather have a mandatory open tournament with somebody/some gang at the number 1 spot at the end of the month than have no access to bragging rights.

Tourney? Yes. A nonstop gang war? No. Why? Lets say i create a 1 man gang, then i will be pretty hard to beat.. And prob more players will do so to get an easy war against bigger gangs... Then we get 1 on 1 wars that last a week, weeks if you war 1man gangs several times in a row, and bigger gangs will not win so much...

Like many others, I don't like the idea that this happens all the time. It means a rivalry can only last for 1 week every 7 weeks, and even now and again you'll be stuck with the 5 man gang that is impossible to defeat, and IMO a 'how many times you killed the gang over' system is better than a 'hacks per player' system, ie if a 30 man gang is killed 300 times, you score 10 points.
A torney is a good idea, and I hope someone gets around to arranging one (as soon as we find out who's problem it is :P).

In a mail i have from someone they say CW aint ready for a tourny cause i wanted to try host one, i have a brilliant. But i will release this once they give the say so. I think we are ready, but that aint my call

Any Gang War Tournament shouldn't be mandatory !!

To even the odds, each gang will be added with INACTIVE players to fill in the missing members !

We are 32 members, 7s are 23 => 7s will have 9 INACTIVE players added to their gang automatically.
(Lets make the gangs worth something to help new members, instead of taking in only the top ranked players !)

Of-course you'll have to prevent members from other gang joining in just for 1 war ..
(Gangs Owner honesty will have to play in, to avoid the fiasco of pre-reset Total war)

ex:
Gang locked no one can get in once war started. Members can leave (to be replaced by INACTIVE players automatically)

This isn't a bad idea. A few lower than 10000 IDs with just the bare essentials for attack could be made for the duration, right? No worries about deleting them afterward, since they don't belong to anyone.

yes Myck or just some that already exist but haven't been online for over 30 days ... with some luck you might get one with a good stat ! :D

And yes, they are gone at the end of the war ... but they could be bots too if it's easier to code

Just so you know, I wouldn't want them in my crew. It wouldn't feel right. Like putting on pads for a game.

And they're called NPCs, Oz. Non Player Characters for those who've never been near a roleplaying game before. And I am more in support of the second idea there than that one. I have always been opposed to the NPCs in a campaign, preferring to have good strategy and team mates than shear numbers.

I think making only the top ranked members count would be better.

I think there's some merit to the idea of 'equal numbers' that Oz had, as in if one gang has less than the other, only the top ranked members count. So if gang A has 16 and gang B has 30, then only the top 16 ranked members of gang B count toward the kills for the war.

I still feel it would be a lot easier and more effective to code in a 'times whole gang killed' function. With your system, having fewer members automatically means you do terribly in the war, while in the current system, having more members is a disadvantage. The % of gang killed would work a lot better, as a small gang would have to a lot of work to take down a big gang, while the big gang would still gain equal merit for taking down the whole of the other gang. Neither would have a significant advantage over the other, and all members of both gangs are included in the war.
