I was always particularly protective over giving any genuine accesss to CW. We actually had two admin panels when he was an admin; one "real" one and one where every minor thing was logged or wasn't even functional (I don't even really remember).

Thinking back there always was a lot of drama surrounding him and that is partially why I did it. Getting people talking about any part of CW got them coming back...

The good ol' days were mostly filled with drama.
As much as many players hated STRFG, including myself, it has always been fun with him around and would never get boring since there was always a DoS member in chat that would start a rant at him or start a thread prompting STRFG to leave CW for good, I might have even started one my own.

I think in those times there has always been a riot in the chatroom wether STRFG was involved or not and it has always been hilarous.

That is damn hilarious. Not only was he paying you through the nose, but his very nature was getting you free publicity. Knowing now that you recognized this and capitalized on it made my day.

I also remember hearing about the mock control panel around the forums then. While I'm sure star knew, I think he was in a state of denial about whether it was true or not. His "arguments" were always a hoot.

Anyone remember the CW clone he was making based on the Stargate universe?
